Research Focus

I am working on a unique CRUK funded accelerator program comprising of 13 research institutes across the UK (CRUK), Spain (FC AECC) and Italy (AIRC), studying commonalities in early detection and intervention of three blood cancers - follicular lymphoma, multiple myeloma and acute myeloid leukaemia. My research focuses on novel strategies to enrich, isolate and characterise a chemo-resistant population, called the common progenitor cell (CPC), in patients with follicular lymphoma. We believe that targeting these disease propagating cells will represent a critical first step in devising novel approaches that will lead to the cure of this indolent lymphoma.
