2020-21 NEW STUDENT INFORMATION

We are looking forward to you all joining us at the Barts Cancer Institute in September 2020

We know that this is a very unsettling time and things might be a little different from usual. But don't worry, we are here to fully support you and are committed to delivering you a high-quality education experience.

Below you'll find information and resources about joining us.

KEY DATES

15 September- 5 October

Late Enrolment

For September 2020, all student enrolments will be completed online and you will not need to enrol in person.

All Unconditional offer holders who have accepted their place, will receive an invitation to enrol on our online portal MYSIS.

If you have not enrolled by the 14th September, please email us at bci-cancercourses@qmul.ac.uk to let us know you still want to enrol.

Please ensure you pay the deposit to secure your place on the programme.

September

Student ID Card Collection

Once enrolled you can collect your student ID card if you attend to go on campus from:

Octagon, Queens’ Building, Mile End Campus

  • 18th September: 10am to 4pm
    Drop in session – No appointment needed
  • 21st September: 1pm to 4pm
    Drop in session – No appointment needed
  • 22nd – 25th September: 10am to 4pm
    Drop in session – No appointment needed
  • 28th September onwards:
    Collection via booking an appointment via the Student Enquiry Centre. All appointments can be booked via your MySis portal.

Unfortunately we are unable to post the cards out.

17 September

Induction

Live induction sessions will be delivered online via Zoom on the 17th September.

The induction schedule will be circulated to all offer holders who have accepted their place, at the end of August.

Induction materials will be available in the New Student Programme Information section below, from the 10th September.

During the live sessions you will have the opportunity to speak with the Programme Directors, Teaching Office Team and past students.

21 September

Semester One Start

Teaching will start from the 21st September.

All core teaching will be delivered remotely, using a combination of live online sessions, pre-recorded content and online resources.

If you can join us on campus in September, we will have activities to supplement your online teaching, though these are not compulsory. Any onsite sessions will be delivered in accordance with government guidance to ensure we are Covid-19 secure.

Unfortunately we are no longer accepting applications for 2020-21 entry.

Please don't worry, the Admissions Team are processing your application as fast as they can for the start of term. If you are concerned, you can contact Admissions via the MYSIS online system.

You can accept or decline your offer via the applicant portal

Conditional offer holders:

Once you accept your offer we can include you on the mailing list to receive information about the start of term.

As soon as you have met your conditions, upload your supporting documents onto the Applicant Portal, so your offer can be amended to Unconditional.

If you have any concerns about meeting your conditions please let us know.

Unconditional Offer holders:

Once you accept, you will be invited to enrol and receive information regarding the start of term.

You will receive an email from Registry inviting you to enrol, follow the instructions to enrol online.

At the end of August you will be sent an email form the BCI Teaching Centre with a password to access the New Student Programme Information area.

Here you will find new student information such as induction schedule,  timetables and programme information.

If your are a returning student, either to complete your studies as a year 2 student, or returning from interruption, then you will revive an email from Registry asking you to re-enrol.

You will have access to the 2020/21 QM+ area from the beginning of September, where you will find information for the start of term.

NEW STUDENT PROGRAMME INFORMATION AREA

ALL OFFER HOLDERS, WHO HAVE FIRMLY ACCEPTED THEIR OFFER WILL RECEIVE A PASSWORD TO ACCESS THIS AREA.

We are currently preparing the programme information. You will be able to access this area for your induction timetable,
semester one timetable and programme guides.

If you have accepted your place and have not received your access code please contact the BCI Teaching Centre as soon as possible.
