This is a pilot of an interactive two-day course with an e-learning module as pre-course preparation to provide surgeons with the essential theoretical knowledge and practical experience of basic level laparoscopic surgery. The course will provide a broad introduction to laparoscopic surgery and the key procedures. You will have the chance to learn and practice a number of laparoscopic techniques under the instruction of vastly experienced tutors.

The certificate of successful completion is issued by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
This will be an intensive course with plenty of opportunity to practice skills in the laboratory, using bench-top models specifically designed for the course.

This course is suitable for CT1-2, ST3-4 and SAS equivalents. The course is aimed at those working in general abdominal surgery, colorectal surgery, urology and gynaecology. Participants should have an ongoing commitment to a career in laparoscopic procedures and be in a post where regular exposure to supervised laparoscopic surgery is available to cement and enhance the basic skills learned on the course.

We regret we are unable to reimburse fees for cancellations within 2 weeks of the course start date.
Cancellation made with less than 5 (but more than 2) weeks’ notice prior to the course commencement, will incur 20% administration fee. The remaining funds will be reimbursed by cheque or bank transfer, upon receipt of written cancellation.
We reserve the right to cancel any of our courses and will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible in the unlikelihood of this happening. All course fees will be returned if the course is cancelled.
