Public Engagement

At the Barts Cancer Institute we engage with our local communities by providing opportunities for supporters and donors, students and healthcare professionals to meet our scientists and clinicians - so that they can find out more about our research.

We organise lab tours for individuals, organisations and charities who support us and want to know more about our work and how their contributions have helped. Our Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Engagement Manager specifically works with the charity's supporters.

We also hope to reach further afield via our social channels - follow us using links in the footer or contact us!

Our goals:
  • Raise awareness of how lifestyle choices affect health and reach people on low incomes in communities with barriers to further education.
  • Encourage students to study and take up careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering & maths), especially around cancer research.
  • Showcase our research to existing and potential supporters, clinicians and scientists, especially in the City and East London.
